The Connecting Communities Program aims to ensure residents have easy access to the information and resources most useful when settling into a new community; enabling them to connect with the local groups and services which will best support their individual needs. Our Community Support Officer, Melissa Macklin, facilitates the Connecting Communities Program providing a free service available to all residents of Dysart.

The Connecting Communities program recognises that Dysart is a unique community with a diverse range of residents and will therefore deliver a level of service most suited to each individual’s or their family’s needs.  This program, delivered in partnership between BMA and The Dysart Community Support Group, intends to welcome new residents to our town and support existing residents to feel connected, enhancing the liveability of our community for all residents through accessible services and activities.

Community members or stakeholders can refer both full-time or part-time residents to engage with the Connecting Communities Program, accessing individualised support and community information resources from the Community Support Officer, and links to a range of community networks.  The program also provides opportunities to become involved and meet both new and existing residents through events such as monthly morning tea’s and quarterly luncheons.  In addition it boasts a calendar of exciting community events not to be missed.

Whether you are looking for activities, information on local services or even volunteer opportunities, we encourage you to drop in to the Dysart Community Centre at 21 Queen Elizabeth Drive, and say hello.  To ensure Melissa will be available you might like to email her at cso@dysartcommunity.com.au, call 0448 582 460 or contact the Dysart Community Centre on (07) 4958 2461.
