About Dysart

Dysart ... settle in, you'll feel like a local in no time!

Former coal haulers, the Belly Dump Truck and Coal Wagon, are a lasting monument to the towns’ extensive coal and rail industry. This site was erected at the entrance of town to celebrate Dysart’s 25th Anniversary in 1998. The Belly Dump was commissioned in 1981 and formed part of the fleet of nine Euclid Coal haulers which operated at Norwich Park Mine until the end of 1997.

Dysart City Centre Clock was an initiative of the Dysart Miner’s Support Group and displays beautifully engraved slate tiles depicting our strong mining industry.  This impressive monument stands tall on Queen Elizabeth Drive, the main street of Dysart.

Heritage Square was laid in 2005 and can be found in Centenary Park. This community space is compiled of engraved tiles that show many of the towns businesses and long-standing community members and families. Stage two of the square is in the early development stages and will show the contribution of more recent community clubs and families.
